End of Day Arrangements

The children will finish school at 3.15pm. Staff will open the classroom doors and release the children one by one to their waiting adult via Willow Class Outdoor Area. There are usually messages for a large number of adults so please be patient whilst we hand over children. Please make sure you have informed school of any different adults collecting your child.

Homework

Over the next few weeks the children will begin to bring home letters sounds that they are learning and reading books and a yellow reading diary. Please ensure reading books and diaries these are kept in their school bags as we aim to read with the children as much as possible. Reading at home should take place at least 4 times a week. Please record in their reading diaries every time you read with your child.

PE

Willow class have PE on Tuesday mornings and Friday afternoons. Please ensure PE kits are in school every day. We hope to start Forest School with Willow class after Christmas.

Forest School

Willow class will be enjoying Forest School sessions every Friday afternoon. Please ensure your child has warm clothes, wellies, a warm coat and waterproofs if you have any to change into. We do have a selection of waterproofs for the children if you do not have any at home. The children will be learning new schools and exploring our wonderful Forest School environment finishing with a hot chocolate drink and a biscuit. Look out for photos on the website.

Spooky Week

Our First Fun Forest School Session

Willow had a great time today learning outdoors.

They looked for their shadows in the Autumn sunshine.

They practiced keeping control of the football with their friends.

They looked at the environment and talked about what they could see had changed from the last time they went on an Autumn walk.

It was great fun!

Willow class had a visitor today. We welcomed Timmy the Tortoise. The children were able to feed Timmy with fruit and cucumber and watch his movements very closely. They felt how smooth but hard his shell was. They had lots of questions to ask. Maybe you could ask your child what they found out about the tortoise to see what they remember.
