Good morning Willow Class.
This week Mrs Bilke and Mrs Painter would have been organising lots of learning around the topic of VE Day. The 8th of May is a very special Day which marks the 75th Anniversary of the end of the Second World War. People celebrated this with street parties, dancing and singing as it was a very happy day. We will not be able to celebrate altogether at this difficult time so we have put some ideas on Tapestry and here on the website to start some discussions around the topic of VE day.
There are some information sheets, You Tube videos and a BBC video to watch to help you start the discussion, watch with your child or just for you to get the facts to talk to your little ones when you get the chance. We have also added some ideas to help you get in the celebrating mood. Decorate your house with flags or bunting you have made, cook some cakes or decorate biscuits and have a picnic or tea together. Some art ideas for you to do together if you choose.
It would be lovely for you to share whatever you do on VE day with us by uploading photos of your day, activities, art or any other wonderful things. So please let us know what you do.
Have fun together, stay safe and hope to hear form you very soon.
