We are very lucky to have lots of adults to help us in nursery. The class teacher is Miss Young and the teaching assistants are Miss Evans, Mrs Schwarz and Mrs Bennellick.
We are very busy settling in, learning routines and having fun this term! Please take a look at our newsletter.
The nursery day is split into two sessions. The first session runs from 8.45am-11.45am and this session is for pre-school children. The second session runs from 12.15pm-3.15pm and this session is for children aged 2-3 years old. We are delighted to provide more flexibility to these sessions as we now offer provision for children who are funded for 30 hours. There is a charge of £2 per full day to cover the cost of lunchtime. For those who do not qualify for the 30 hours offer, sessions can be 'topped-up' to full days at a competitive rate of just £12 per session (half-day). Wrap-around care is also available from 8am for breakfast club. If you have any queries in regards to hours, funding or places, please call Mrs Nend in the main school office on 01684 572516.
As an enthusiastic and passionate Forest School Leader, Miss Young takes the Nursery children outside at every opportunity, in every weather condition! Last year the children loved nothing more than a muddy puddle walk and even got to experience some snow. Although we aim to have a set day for Forest School, this can often change due to staffing, weather and school events. Therefore please ensure that your child has a pair of wellies and suitable clothing at nursery everyday.
What to wear
The children in nursery love to get messy, whether it be with paint, water, sand or food! Please keep their best clothes at home and send them to nursery in suitable, old clothing. We will help the children to get changed whenever necessary (e.g. if they have got very wet in the water) so please make sure that you always keep a spare pair of clothes in their bag.
We use Tapestry! Tapestry enables you to access pictures and comments regarding your child's learning. This is a great way to enable you to talk to your child about what they have been doing at Nursery. Please make sure that we have your email address and that you have signed our user agreement. You can also upload pictures and comments of things they have done at home. Please see Miss Young for help with this.
