Multiplication and Division:

For the first two weeks of the term, we will be focusing on our multiplication and division skills. The children will explore factors and common factors related to the times tables they need to know by the end of their year group and use their place value knowledge when multiplying and dividing by 10, 100 and 1000.

Key components:

• Divide by 10, 100 and 1000.
• Factor pairs/factors.
• Common factors.
• 3 times tables.
• Multiply and divide by 6.
• Multiples of 10, 100 and 1000.

Fractions, Decimals and Percentages:

In this unit, the children will focus on the fractions aspect of learning. The children will explore:

• What is a fraction?
• Equivalent fractions.
• The difference between unit and non-unit fractions.
• Fractions greater than 1.
• Converting fractions.
• Compare and order fractions.

Geometry:

In this unit, the children will explore the properties of shape. We will explore:

• Identify angles.
• Compare and order angles.
• Turns and angles.
• Measuring angles.
