Victorious, Vicious Vikings
Were the Vikings always victorious and vicious? This half term we will be delving into History and learning about the Vikings. We will be focusing on Viking Invasions, learning about Viking dress, armour, tools, villages, transport and much more along the way. We have planned a visit from a Historian who will ignite our children’s imaginations with real artefacts, costumes and spectacular activities (a letter will come home about this with more detail). We will be inviting you in to be the audience for a fantastic Viking Fashion Show, and ending our topic with a Viking battle.
On Monday 10th February, the Vikings invaded! The History Man visited Years 3 and 4 to teach them about who the Vikings were, where they were from, and the importance of their legacy. Children held real life artefacts, including weapons and armour. Children played Viking games and experienced a real Viking battle. Children thoroughly enjoyed the Viking day.
Sycamore class have been busy designing, measuring and making their own Viking longboats.
