This term, we will begin our English writing sequence with a non-fiction text, which poses the question 'Are Humans Damaging the Atmosphere?'. In Beech Class, the children will look to find information to support this question, before presenting their findings in the form of an information text.

Throughout this sequence, the children will have the opportunity to learn and develop a number of components of the English curriculum, including:

  • Verb tenses, including the passive voice.
  • Expanded noun phrases.
  • Use of layout devices.
  • Relative clauses.
  • Recognise a range of cohesive devices.
