Online Safety

This half term, we have focused on developing our online safety skills. As a school, we are aware that lots of our children are using social media, therefore, it is very important for us to teach them how to stay safe online. We have also explored what our online identity looks like compared to what our real identity is.

We know that we mustn't arrange to meet up with people online; give out our personal details; share images of ourselves that could give away our location or give out passwords. We have explored that using social media can be a way for some us to hide and pretend to be someone else and that sometimes, it can be used inappropriately for things such as cyberbullying. We have looked at the causes and effects of this.

PowerPoints

This half term, we are becoming experts at using PowerPoint. We are linking our learning cross-curricularly with our Learning Journey lessons. In our first lesson, we researched and discovered facts about Egyptian Gods which we then summarised (using our reading skills) to create interesting sentences. We have now started to explore using PowerPoint to create an information document that we can share to showcase our knowledge.
